Dark roads of the mind

by Infernus   Dec 16, 2007

Dark roads he travels, but not of his choice.
As his sanity unravels he listens to the voice.
It wants him to take the life he holds dear.
Relentless and cold it plays on his fears.
Day after day it schemes and it lies.
Mile by mile his resistance to it dies.
At the end of the road a choice he must make.
Her life or his own which does he take.
"Why not both" the voice whispers with glee.
To his horror he finds he must agree.

I really liked these lines. Well done--short, but still very emotional.

That's interesting. Short but definitely fits its length. Nice flow up til the end. I don't know about that last line. In a way it seems...a little off. But still it fits. Hmm I'll ignore that. Dark which suits this piece. I liked the content and how it plays together nicely.
