Impiety

by Jacob M Parnell   Feb 4, 2008

I am a scourge of denial.
The epitome of regret.
The remorse beneath your bones.
The imp of which youve dreamt.

I will fill you with repugnance.
Contort you with pain.
And in the midst of my torment,
Youll ask me my name.

Ill smile at your ignorance,
Laugh at your expense.
Ridicule your decrepitude.
And fill you with suspense.

Youll beg for my forgiveness,
As I envelop your sleep.
Unconsciously suffering.
Ill watch as you weep.

Your tears will fuel my hatred,
Toy with my disdain.
And in the midst of my torment,
Youll ask me my name.

Ill stare you in the eyes,
Finally confronting you face to face.
And the moment at which you wince.
Your mind is what I will embrace.

Ill take you from this cold,
Silently whisper to you my name.
I tell you my name is impiety,
I tell you youve gone insane.
