by Hear You Me
The swelling behind my eyelids
Blisters my screaming brain,
Obese tears stream down my face
Whilst I struggle to keep myself sane,
I don't know why we're not speaking,
Why you're annoyed again.
When they were here you acted fine,
But I see now: That was pretend.
It burns to think you don't like me
In the way that a mother should,
It scolds to think that no matter what
Maybe you never could,
I hope deep within you love me,
But echoed in your eyes is despise,
The image of this is imprinted in me
And I see it now as i cry,
Even when looking back at photos
Your dislike is quick to show,
But you are my mum, i am your child!
It kills me, as I'm sure you well know.
Some people lose their mother,
It's something I don't want to know.
Some mothers lose their daughters too,
Would you hurt to see me go?
