So I'm to dream

by PorcelainMoon   Mar 17, 2014

Dream of you while I lie awake
There's nothing left but the tears in my eyes
Eternity isn't long enough
Where oceans between
Maybe you would love me in the next life
So I'm to dream
Can't remember to breathe in the wind
Trying to bleed you back alive
Before the dawn catches us sober of thought

Bedroom blues
A toast to the loners shoes
Pondering the scent you left on my pillow again
Don't outstay your welcome

They told us we couldn't write about the end
Pull the curtains
Before the tremolo moonlight flickers
Falling off the the world with you

Wolf eyes emerge from the rising sun
Porcelain snow chasing footprints
On the desperate run
It's been so long since yesterday
Though this flesh we detest
Is the path to eternity

    "Bedroom blues

I love how your draw the whimsy into this poem even if it's in a sad sort of way...
"Pondering the scent you left on my pillow again
    Don't outstay your welcome"
...and then plug in an almost painful (not to read, I mean in the sense it makes you feel) emotional kind of aspect. Your poetry combines the folly of imaginative writing with the harsh day-to-day realities. This contrast is one of the things I love so much about your poetry and is what draws me to read more. Great poem, the ending made me reflect on life. :)
