Whisper

by Melody   May 15, 2014

Red little lines
Cover his arms,
Blood slowly beading
But quickly dripping,
His eyes following droplets
Falling to the floor,
Hating the world
But loving one girl,
He gives one last kiss
To the one he calls babe,
His life slowly fading
But becoming ever so clear,
She whispers I love you
But he is gone.

Okay. I really like the title because when I think of whisper I think of a secret. So when this guy cut he didnt want anyone to truly know how he felt. The first couple of lines tell me that he has been a cutter for a long time and now this was the "last straw". He couldn't handle the pain of life anymore. I really liked the following of the story. Each line holds a new story in itself I feel. This is very heartbreaking as well.

I really liked how you put a little love into this. It seems like this girl was the one who kept him alive but even she couldn't save him. This poem really hits the reader hard because it is very relatable to a lot of people. The message and wording are very strong here. I think at the end though this guy didn't want the pain anymore and now he is "free" in a way. Well done.
