Darling

by Caeleigh   Jul 6, 2014

I think I saw you in my sleep, darling.
I know you can hear my screams,
I hope they give you chills.
I know what it takes to swallow those pills.
I hope I can watch while you re-stitch my seams.

I think I saw you in my sleep, darling.
I saw you stitching up my seams.
I can only be your nightmare for so long.
I was already shattered before you realized I was cracking.
I will soon fall asleep and dream of broken things.

I think I saw you in my sleep, darling.
I fall asleep, for 40 days and 40 nights, the deafening silence fills all around me.
I dream of broken things. I saw you in my sleep, darling.
I see you struggle the sweet agony of life as it passes at the speed of light.
I see you there. Now I see, darling, you're just as shattered as me.

I think I saw you in my sleep, darling.
I see your screaming wrists laced in crimson.
I can feel your heart breaking ; I see your eyes begging "someone help me",
I see your pain as it swallows you whole, but it's all the same.
I know your pain because I feel it too.

I think I saw you in my sleep, darling.
I see you there. I hear your screams; I will repair your beautiful seams.
I feel those chills, but I flushed the pills, because you and -
I are stronger than the things that break us.
I know your pain, darling, I feel it too. Now please let me fix you.
