Mommas Broken wings

by xxOutcastQueenxx   Jul 27, 2014

Believing things so different.
You told her you would never leave.
You'd never hurt her.

But on her dying breath she still loved you.
Even though you went back on your word.
On her death bed you said "Goodbye".
She raised me to call you daddy.

And through the years of
pain and abuse you dealt us.
She still loved you.

On the day she died,
I swear I heard the angels cry out
"Here She Comes On Broken Wings"
From ever dream you shot down.
From every wish you murdered.
From her broken heart you created.

My momma flew on broken wings to a place where she escaped you and your violent abusive streak.
