Shipwrecked

by WritingtheStars   Oct 20, 2014

He was my anchor
to the happiness of reality.
He helped me find joy
and sunshine again.

How am I supposed to go
when he has abandoned me
leaving me adrift
in sea of sadness.

I can no longer see the sun
Or joy as he has taught me to see.

Reality seems more like the Hell
I once saw it as
before he came into my life.

Only it seems worse now.
Because I've seen that joy,
I know it's out there,
but I know I cannot have it.

Waves of despair crash over me,
crumbling me to the deck,
wishing for death.

A loud CRASH rings out,
as the ship hits a rock
and folds around it.

Everyone is pushed away,
they all look like the rock
that nearly killed me.

Though I see a ray of sunlight,
part through the clouds,
a ray of hope shines on me,
hope he'll come back.

At this point,
me curled upon the deck
of my wrecked ship,
that hope is all I have.
