Blind.

by kayla   May 22, 2015

I'm trying to fix you, but I'm starting to crumble.
This load is unbearable, one more step, I may stumble.
I gaze into your eyes, they appear so empty.
If your heart is vacant, why can't you love me?
I know you are hurting ,it's not easily hidden.
I just want to help you, but I know that's forbidden.
Life can be grueling, well, love can be tougher.
We struggle enough, let's not make it rougher.
There are many things to fear, please not my touch.
I don't want to hurt you, I love you that much.
I've been in your shoes, I have walked beyond a mile.
I just need you around, every once in a while.
Nothing can be perfect, I know this is true.
I don't want anything, as long as I have you.
I have put in the effort, gave all my best.
Despite my intentions, I can't pass your test.
It never gets easier, showing that you are weak.
But there is no dominance, in the harsh words you speak.
I've made mistakes too, I'll undoubtedly admit.
Sometimes it's hard, to hold a tongue already bit.
Occasionally I question, who's side you are really on.
It is us against the world, you will never be alone.
I am not a healer, I cannot repair your sutures.
Nor am I a mystic, but I can see our future.
All I've ever wanted, is to understand your mind.
I guess what they say is true, true love must be blind.
