The girl in white.

by A dust in the air   Jun 30, 2015

Oh how sad,
How sad it was for her,
For the girl in white,
Dressed in purity,
Covered by a mask of happiness.
For she gave love to others,
From day to day,
When all that was in her mail box was dust.
And everyday,
She would tell herself ;

Stay strong, you're tough, you can do this! Give love to everyone, give without earning!

But can she really do it?
Is she really tough?
She brings charm everywhere she goes, but does everyone see?
Or does anyone see at all?
Does anyone see what she does?
Does anyone see what she is?
Does anyone see that she's not that tough?
Or is she just oxygen?
We can't see her, but she's the reason we live...
And yet, she might not even know...

It's sad...

Well written, I do enjoy the symbolism that you used. Makes you think.

This is an interesting concept, although the piece feels a little too basic - at least for my taste. The structuring works well but the word choice and voice are bland. Again, decent concept and I'd like to read more from you, but 3/5 from me for now.

    Also, belated welcome.

    Very nice poem.
Nowadays, people rarely give attention to the decrease in oxygen in the air arround us.
    Very well written.
