Lies

by Beautiful Tragedy   Jul 7, 2016

Rain pours down on the rooftop,
Like all the tears I cried that day
it wasn't supposed to end like this,
I wasn't supposed to leave that way.

Raindrops on the glass window,
I can still picture the anger in your eyes,
My mascara was running down my face
Everything he told you and you believed, had been lies.

The quiet hum of the air conditioner,
you had told me nothing was broken beyond repair,
I had always told you the truth,
You believing him was not fair

The air is cold and chilling,
Like the feeling that got my stomach to sink,
You knew what had happened but you wouldn't listen,
You were way to angry to think.

Thunder cracks across the sky,
As loud as the screams that I had sobbed,
Everything I had worked for,
Love, trust, even my innocence was once again robbed.

The wind whips against the window,
Like the words you threw in my face,
How could someone who had claimed to love me,
Put me down with such disgrace?

Thunderous black clouds pour over the sky,
Like the anger that grips everything in me,
I fall to my knees screaming,
This was never how it was supposed to be.

Lightning lights up the pitch black sky,
Like the light you had used to guide me,
Kind words and gracious moves,
It would've been first instinct to flee.

As the storm settles morning pours in,
And I start to close my eyes,
The anger, the betrayal, the hurt,
Were all caused due to you believing lies.
