I Deserve This Praise

Good way to shoot me down
You ruin my every hope
Good way to kill me now
You'll get what you deserve

If a stupid poem could fix this pain
I'd read it everyday
If a worthless song could fix my shame
I'd hear it in every way

I wanted this
More than anything
It could have boosted my hope
But you had to tear it away

Why do these things matter?
I've earned this praise
I deserve it more than most
