    One Last Breath

No one hears my voice, though I cry,
the small echo stays hidden inside.
I have not seen the world yet,
when I do, I know I can make an impact
where surrender is not an option.
I feel she has already made her choice
and I will be but a guilty memory,
my imagined road to live upon,
    abandoned with no recognition.
I believe someday my unique path
    will be re-discovered and sunlight
won't even dream of concealing radiance.
In the end, my smile and purpose
will be delivered to the weak of heart.

The fight for life can't die this soon.

----- Let us fight for the unborn who are indeed humans with a beating heart. Yes, they are undeveloped, not fully mature, smaller, and in the mother's womb, but this does not deny them of the same rights and value we have. Abortion wounds the hearts of many men and women, and takes away the sanctity of life. Let us continue this fight we can win!

"Every Moment Comes To An End."

    Today the world is broken
Bleeding hearts bled all but dry
A silent figure sits down next to me
And we watch fire touch the sky

Roots break to dust and crumble
They try to find solace beneath our skin
We block out the screams of machinery
    Whilst the roots burrow in

    The Sun, eclipsed by apathy
Burns the heaven from your smile
    As metal replaces anatomy
The final truths break our denial

    Realisation by Television
The silent figure takes the stage
The final light within the darkness
    Joins in the final fade

    Calmness fills the forests
    The oceans take a breath
There's a sigh from all there ever was
As my last heartbeat fills my chest

    Today the world is broken
So I'll kiss you, my silent friend
And we'll watch the clocks come to a stop
As every moment comes to an end

    When The Stars Shut Down

    A sort of emptiness took
    over me when you said
    your last few words. Like
a flame on a piece of paper
    burning down it's composition
    I was left brutality burned.

The pain lives on inside my heart.

Find me a place that doesn't
hold the essence that use to be
you. Take me somewhere that won't
bring back the familiarity of your
    fingertips on my skin.
    I miss you
    I miss you
    I miss you.
I know saying it over and over
won't bring you back, but it
    lets me know you existed.

There was no wonder to the sky
once the stars shut down and the
moon covered up it's glow. The
    atmosphere grew thick with
    violence and choked me into
    a cationic state of depression
and left me to linger in the past.

This is the magnitude of grief I felt
    when you said goodbye.

I tried out Whisper on the Breeze and i got this, kind of old emotions but i hope some people like this :)

It comes to me at night
    So soft i bearly hear
    Sometimes I don't realize
Until the whispers at my ear

    The night on the street
When it was all cut short
I only wish i could have helped you
    Maybe lent you some support

    The sound still rings
    Its a neverending note
I could hear it charging up
    The blood in your throat

    The bullet whisked through you
I hope to god it was fast
I see you die every night
No matter how far in the past

You close your eyes with a smile
Like you died with some ease
I heard the breath leave your body
Like a whisper on the breeze

    Bottle of memories

Days pass me by, almost like the wind
and as time moves on, I move back
into a past of my forgotten years
where I find so many blur pictures
covered with old dust, that these
    years passing by have left.

    Where unversed voices remained trapped
yet as these competing ting minutes run away
these trafficed sounds get swallowed in,
with tunes echoing lower and lower...

There at the back of my mind
I have it all there memorized..
    Countless mornings,endless days,random nights
left behind graves of love and of grief.
Moments of company and those of lonesome
Tears of happiness and some of joy.
    It's all beating-less there.

There at the back of my mind
It shall forever stay " there "
with all its busy lights, and shadows.
With all its past nights and days.
Abiding with these black and white sunsets.
Where the sun at shall for ever, yet
backwardly rise over..for a moment of
remembrance of my past and me.
And only a moment of remembrance shall it be

    And Unhappy

Against the force of the current,
    Happiness I seek!
I search, look around, I stare yet suppress
For many expressions and images are hung on
each wall beside each step I fight to take.
Diving through the waves of this wide ocean,
    Chasing happiness..
which may be true, yet may be fake.
I track not the safe side, for he who
Pursue for happiness, darkness he shall abide.

Nothing; comes not easily, nor easily can nothing be found.
Easy is but a word, with an illusory back ground.
And so waves I shall cross, miles I shall sail.
Mountains I shall move, if happiness is what I trail.

For as easy as a smile seems to me, a laughter shall never be.
Smiling brings you but joy of the moment,
yet a laughter sets you free!
And where freedom costs a lot, I wonder if I'll ever
let go this unhappy sailor residng inside of me.

    Quicksand

    I couldn't feel it coming
    but I'm glad I wasn't prepared.
    You were smooth
    an unexcepted trait.
    I was looking for
    harshness judging by
    your surroundings
    but once again you
    tricked me.

    Now that I'm under
    your spell I know
    I don't want to get
    loose. Your hold has
    given me a new
    found glory that
    makes the inner
    chambers of my heart
    shine. Pull me down
    deeper. Engulf me
    with your essence.

    I've lost all control
    and I'm rendered helpless.
    I could careless
    because I know I'll
    find you in another
    realm of peace.

    Darkness has found me
    now and so has
    the sub level temperatures.
    The only thing that
    lives is my heart.

    I'm suffocating
    in your love and I
    wouldn't have it
    any other way.

I apologize sincerely for being a day late but I've been at the hospital with my father for the last 36 hours and have finally had a chance to come home and sleep so I figured I would do this now so I don't keep you waiting. Alright so here are the results....
(!!!I'm also giving one comment and rate to a poem of my choosing for the people who got honorary mentions!!!)

1st place goes to Nik B with When The Stars Shut Down. I was absolutely blown away by this piece and rather amazed with your Quicksand as well, however I chose the first one as the winner. Excellent job!

2nd place goes to cantchangeme with Every Moment Comes To An End. An extraordinary piece that was extremely close to being 1st place. This also was an excellent poem and I was really moved by it. You interpreted the title in a unique way that I didn't expect but was happily surprised by it. Well done indeed.

I'd also like to give honorary mentions to Memories with Whisper On The Breeze, Vanilla with Forever And Almost Always, as well as Britt with Sincerely Me.

Over all each one of the poems submitting were amazing and I had a tough time choosing winners. So congrats to everyone and 1st + 2nd place please pm with the poem(s) you wish me to comment and rate!!! :)
