Perhaps this will, hopefully, put Ben and ddavidd's little disagreement to rest and we can move on...I hope you will reconsider abandoning your time as POTF Ben.

Mmmm....not something I'd give a second glance...my fridge door is covered in better artwork from my grandchildren and yet...it sold for a WHOPPING $75.1 MILLION US dollars....art is subjective right enough haha!!

I am honestly pained to read this thread. I don't want to add more... I only have respect for both of you.

    I'm all caught up.

I think what happened above was a genuine misunderstanding. I honestly don't think Ddavidd meant to insult anyone; he merely tried to draw some joint conclusion with Ben about where the line is drawn between poetry and not poetry. The specific "you" and general "you" in the English language have resulted in more than one misunderstanding in my lifetime.

Of course, Ben, this is your thread and your choice when and if it closes early. I hope you will change your mind.
You would be depriving the rest of PnQ of knowing you better, and I know a lot of people, including me, have been looking forward to your time as PotF :)

I'll give you a chance to respond, and then I will either begin asking my 10 questions or I will lock the thread. Your call. Remember, you can always pass questions.

    “One last thing
For those who do not feel to read all the reading above.
While I were complimenting Ben for his answers, I said:” by ddavidd

Hmm, that only tells me that I need to go back and reread all the above. I kind of just skimmed throughout...

Man!( just an expression I use often), I really wanted to know how many hours of sleep he has during the day.

I’ll be back to read... someday.

Well as I am reading, I can see what Jane meant with the misunderstanding.

I’m also noticing there were parts that were updated. I’m not sure if that update has make a great difference in how I am seeing that misunderstanding.

However, I just want to take this line and quote ddavidd

“I think talking and reading about this stuff contributes to the enhancement of a poetry community such as ours. There are so many confusion about the meaning, or the purpose of poetry. There were members here who alleged everything you put on the paper is poetry. I did not want to ridicule them by asking: what about commercial ads or laundry lists.”

I agree with the first sentence. As for the line, “there were members here who alleged everything you put on the paper is poetry” I semi/disagree with it. If you had asked me that that question, I would have say there’s poetry in the commercial ads or the laundry lists. And my answer would be honest without an intention to offend poetry or anyone else. Because I have my own way of seeing poetry. Written thoughts. Though there’s more to that.

Edit: ^ with that I meant to say I wouldn’t feel ridiculed.

Anyways, i really hope this thread continues.

Edit: with that I meant to say that this thread continued with what it was intended and leave the other debate aside.

But before the thread is locked, I wish everyone all the best.

Guys you need to let this sleep!

I'm all up for discussion and debate and if it comes down to it a scrap, verbal or otherwise.

Ben has indicated his desire to depart from this thread and you should respect his wishes. I also respect that you are all massively intelligent and you enjoy a debate.

I am not massively intelligent but I know when it's time to let go of the bone.

    This needs to sleep!

Craig, it seems to me that no one is trying to debate further, rather, we're trying to wrap our heads around what took place so we can move on from it and keep Ben's thread open in a way that he's happy with :) Of course it's his call.
I will always encourage others to resolve misunderstanding rather than walk away upset. In this case, however, I would just love to see the thread get back on track if Ben wants to keep it open after thinking about it. And if anyone wants to discuss the disagreement from above, they can do so privately.

On the off chance The Sonnet King returns, renewed and ready, I'll post 3 questions. Worth a shot! :P

Question #1: What fictional character would be the most boring to meet in real life? How about the most interesting?
Question #2: What is your favorite season and what do you like about it?
Question #3: Are there any songs that always puts you in a good mood? Any songs that never fail to make you sad?

I was going through the forums now, and when I saw this one, I got really excited and came running online. But then I read the above.. I wonder why there is something called misunderstanding and conflict...

Umm Mr. Ben, you are one of my favourite poets here, and... I hope you return to your thread... so that we can know you more in spite of all these, and also so that I too can ask you something...
