The Flame

by Katie   Feb 8, 2008

In the distance there is a flame,
It's there, flickering in the night
Representing many things
The match strikes the box and a flame appears.
And within seconds it could be gone with the breeze
The flame represents life
It'ss burning in the night
Standing strong, standing alone
Then poof, it's gone
The breeze takes that life away, just like that.
The flame teaches us about life
Teach us to stand up for ourselves and others
Stand alone when no one will back you up
Be proud of who you are
Take every moment and cherish it,
Because just like that, it could be gone.
The chance to stand strong no longer available
The life you once knew no longer there
There's the flame,
Flickering in the night
When the breeze passes through the room
And the flame disappears in a poof of smoke.
