You're Breaking Me, Mama

by BurningCandle   Feb 11, 2008

Mama

You don't care

Mama

Can you see me?
Do you even know me?

Mama

It's a play where emotions are fake and don't matter
We're nothing more than actors

Mama

We try to pretend that life is perfect
Even though life is a living hell

Mama

I know you hate him

Mama

I'm waiting for the day you kill him
I know you want Papa dead

Mama

I'm waiting for that old, rotting, wooden bridge to fall
I'm waiting for the day that you destroy us all

Mama

You both fight deep in the night
But I can hear it all

Mama

I can hear the slaps and the screams
I can hear everything

Mama

You're breaking me
You're drowning me

...mama...

Would you notice if I left?
Am I that insignificant?

Mama

You leaned on me for support like a walking stick of life
But I'm small and snap easily

Mama

Can you hear my pleads for help?
Can you see my pleading eyes?

Mama

There are other people in this world besides you
But you are blind to everything but your own pain

Mama

Wake up and look at me
...you're breaking me...

Mama

...mama...?
