The Audition

by Chase   Feb 11, 2008

I watch amidst the audience,
gazed into the past and saw,
just how far you've come.

I once saw cowardice.
Now I see triumph and glory.
I see everything you've become.

A bet we made, perhaps a dare;
We both had followed though.
Now I see you, shining.

You always said,
It was all because of me.
Now I see you, myself without, singing.

You did it all on your own.
Tis your talent you behold.
Everyone applauds for you.

I wish that I could be--
There to tell you how great you are.
But that yearn for a solo, you flew.
