My Friend, I will never forget you.

by Chase   Feb 12, 2008

I look upon my house, in flames,
holding in already descending tears.
I look upon my life once lived,
I promise you, home, I will never forget
our memories.

I stand, as a jolt of hyper-thought struck!
My best friend, was still in the house.
I screamed and cried as they held me against my will...

As the house crumbled, I cried.
I lost everything inside.
Alas, all I could think of loosing
was my best friend.

As my house fell asunder,
Amid the submissive embers,
I said,
"I will miss you, my friend.
I will never forget you."

I really hope this didn't happen to you, I'm sorry if it did. The first stanza is definitely my favourite. I like the way that this doesn't rhyme, makes it really simple and easy to read. Not at all forced. Em xXx
