Unspoken Taboo

by Lizzie   Feb 18, 2008

We sat in the sun,
kissing away that unspoken taboo.
And saw how the sunbeams sparkle across each others hair.
The leaves glowed while the sun flowed clear and bright,
Glowing on our fingers, yours holding mine tight,
Acceptance earned is acceptance denied.

So strange now this safety,
within the curl of your arm.
And I can't believe I want it so
close to the need to be near you.
That longing for loving and a pause in hard time.

Other words are so mild
In this dream laden world,
I can dance like in the snowfall
and laugh like a child.

I see the older ones,
holding themselves hard,
To the broken promises
knowing that I have the world
