From my home I've gone away, Into the green oblivion; From my home I will stay, To a woodland a long way on. Through heaven's forest I'll take my steps, Away from this gentle earth; Farther from those who've wept, When I have left them first. As I pass the trees of grace, And walk through the flowered fields of glory; I know that I have found my place, In the final chapter in my story. While I bathe in the silver stream, And nap in the purple heather; It'll be like a dream of a dream, The time we've spent together. But as your days go forward, And your strength begins it's waning; I'll begin the path homeward, And at the gate of Eden, I'll be waiting.
