Dreaming Away

As I lay in silence,
to let you rest and be,
I can't help but to imagine
what images are playing through your dreams.

Has your mind traveled off
to a land far, far away
to the place where we can be together
without caring what others have to say.

Is your mind off dreaming
about our life in the future so near,
the time in our lives where being apart
is something we never have to fear.

Are you dreaming of us laying together,
both of us at each other's side.
Hoping that nothing ruins our moment,
wishing that we could slow time.

As I lay in bed listening
to you drift peacefully away,
I can't help but start to wish
for the time I can be with you each and every day.
