Friends are important

...is very important to me. My friends mean the world to me because they complete me. They compliment, contradict, and enlighten me. They fill me with blissful happiness, warmth, and at times anger and frustration. Friends are like your significant others--you build a relationship that sometimes does not last, but you find yourself trying again and again. They are people you thrive off of spending time with, even if you're reading different books in the same rooms.

I have a wide variety of friends. With some I dance all night, with some I party(yes there is a difference), and in some I confide. To some I tell dirty little secrets, to some I vent, and to a very few I pour my heart out. Most have seen my happy self, many have seen my irritated self, and a very few have seen my tears. Some offer me their advice, some put me in my place, and some just listen. Some offer me unconditional love, some ask questions, and some demand answers.

Some recent events have prompted me to question the foundation of friendship. It seems as fragile as a reflection of a full moon on the surface of a lake in a windless night--as soon as a leaf falls onto it the reflection is distorted as the miniature waves crash through and its beauty is compromised. Before long, the image gathers itself; yet you are unsure whether it is same as before...
