No More Chains

by RadianceInReverse   Feb 25, 2008

I used to spend all my time
chasing you around
trying to capture your far-off mind
digging my self-respect into the ground

I used to waste all of my efforts
just trying to make you happy
providing you all life's comforts
but finally I saw, they were just a waste of time

I broke free,
from under your demanding hostility
I ripped away those invisible chains
Ive stepped past the walls you built up

I grew up,
I realized that I didn't need you, anymore
All I needed was the strength in my heart
and the power of my mind!

No longer did my fears tie me down
your ropes finally wore away
as my blood boiled with anger
but still you kept trying to hold me back

Now Hulk like durability
sweeps over my soul
so you can no longer push my buttons
theres no more key for you to turn
I'm completely FREE!!
