Stay away from me,
For all I bring is pain,

I am an advocate of pain,
For I refuse to die for love again,

Time after time,
I gave them my heart,

And time after time,
I was left to pick up the pieces of my broken heart,

I'm done with the crying,
I'm done with the sleepless nights,
I'm done with the endless questions why?

Why did you come into my life,
Why did you say you wanted to be with me,
Why did you say you loved me,
Yet you did so many things you knew would hurt me,

All I wanted was to hold your hand,
Spend my precious time with you,
Share all these feelings inside of me,
And be able to call you "mine"

Maybe to you it was too much to ask for,
Yet I highly refuse to be given anything less,
Then what I know I deserve,
And these are some of the things I would search for,

I wanted someone that couldn't wait to see me at the end of their day,
I wanted someone who just wanted to call me up to hear my voice because he missed me,
I wanted someone who expressed the way they felt even though it might have sounded "cheesy",
I wanted someone who loved me for being me,
I wanted someone who wouldn't try to change me,
And most of all I wanted someone who would trust, communicate and respect me.
