The story of us

by tinna   Feb 27, 2008

This is the story never told, it was never uncovered nor thought about,
This is no ordinary story, it's a story about a person, someone who never had doubt.
He never spoke bad about life, and he just wanted to save someone,
As time went by he had given up on this dream to save another, using only love and much more,
He lay awake at night thinking of the hurt he hided so well from the world, a world that only caused his heart to tore.

He walked down the street at day, pretending, having so many masks, but no one saw, not even did he,
He never knew how much he was needed nor did he know, that far across the ocean line he helped someone see,
She was never anything great nor did she deserve better than her life, she was broken,
He never knew every word that he said, every opinion he had, she had listened,
And had drenched her soul and bathed her being in every letter every word spoken.

He sits and listens to the room echo with the silence that only such as heartache can leave,
The silence crawls up on her, covering her entire body with whispers of strangers telling her the secrets of a path once wandered,
Suddenly the emptiness closes in around him, and all thats left is suffocation,
He longs for a heart as true as his, a heart to beat alongside his.
She has no more to give, she searches for words, she lies down to watch the stars cry,
They cry for her, they cry for him, and for the life she had yet to choose,
He decides it's time to find her, to feel her close, to complete a dream he has yet to lose,
She cries once more with all the shadows of her past, they wont leave, they wont give her back a heart,
she slowly decides its time, no more lies no more masks, no more hiding from feelings.
He runs up the street that once seemed so familiar, but now sends fear down his back,
Suddenly he finds a piece of clothing, along with another one, he suddenly knows the answers to all,
She lies down under the tree, where two hearts were once one, and closes her eyes,
softly a memory of a lullaby once sung reappears..

He holds her dear, in his arms at night, no one knows but his moral heart,
he didn't save her nor did he have a chance to fight for the person, but they are far apart,
She smiles at him and holds his hand, knowing he tried with all his might,
she didn't need to be saved, she just needed his love to show her the light.
He clenches his jaw, while tears stream down his face,
letting her go, just the way she would have wanted,
They both needed a miracle, and they both found that same miracle in another life.

*for my the unknown*
