Poem for the lonely

by purplemadness   Mar 1, 2008

When I promised you forever
I meant that my love for you would die never.
And I saw you in my dreams yesterday,
I was amazed; I did not know what to say.
And my heart sometimes gets weak,
That's when we talk like lovers speak.
Instead of being torn apart by some odd reason,
You grow on me like the coming of the season.
Love love love, it's such a small word with so much meaning,
Pain pain pain, that's what I feel when you're not near me.
It's okay if you want to cry, I am here,
Maybe you didn't know, but I won't ever disappear.
Take my shoulder and lay your weary head to rest,
Times we've spent alone were bad, we changed it now into the best.
What words can I say so you will know that you are not alone?
I will be there if you need me, just hang on.
I can't erase the pain you feel,
But I can share it with you, do we have a deal?
My arms are stretched out for you,
Just walk in, that's all you have to do.
If I could I would demand the angels to take me wherever you are,
Here on earth, the Milky Way or on a distant star.
My fingers on the surface of the water cause tiny waves,
They seem endless like my love for which I crave.
The fire of love inside me burns internally,
But it will stay there, just for you to see.
