Sinking ship

by purplemadness   Oct 25, 2008

Your soul is restless, it finds no peace,
Like a ship trapped in dark stormy seas.
It gets bounced up and down, all day and night,
And land is nowhere in sight.

You feel like you are ready to face it and then die,
You stand on the bow of life, ready to say goodbye.
Waves are beating your face and pulling your hair,
I was there too, once, crying out in total despair.

And home is so far and you've lost your way,
But be assured, you will reach it someday.
That's if you face these troubled winds and face it all,
Then and only then you will hear your homeland call.

The storm is gaining strength and it's getting worse,
Like a wizard has haunted you with a curse.
The waves of life ain't a pleasure ride,
The trick is to carefully watch the tide.

And your ship sails on and on,
Taking every blow presented by the storm.
Yes, you have to act wisely and don't forget to think,
Or else your ship of life will sink.

Tons of water will enter and you will go down,
Screaming at Neptune, you will drown.
But if you prevent damage, safe land will be within reach,
You'll be drinking a cocktail at the beach.
From there you will look at the sea,
And you'll thank God that in the future your ship sails with me.
