I Give Up

I didn't know I could do it, but I've given up on you.
I know it'll never happen again, and I know you do too.
I just met this girl and she's pretty, sweet, and fun.
I've only known her for a little while, but I like her a ton.
I trust her with almost anything, even though we just met,
She is so amazing, but you I'll never forget.
There's only one problem that I'm worried about,
Me and her won't ever happen, or at least I have my doubts.
I guess now that I think about it she is a lot like you,
but I kinda ignore it cuz of the pain you put me through.
This thing I'm worried about is that she's older,
And it sucks because she'll never know how I feel about her.
But I guess it's just another thing I have to deal with,
another thing to give up on and cross off my list.
