Silver and Gold

by Mike Wilburn   Mar 5, 2008

Money, Honey; I need my cash
Make it last, hold it fast
Chase it down; snatch it up
Worship its meaningful essence

Silver, Babe; wear it on your neck
Polish and shine, shine, shine
Pierce your body, Oh yeah
Admire its silvery nature

Gold, Sugar; your finger glitters
Please be mine, mine, mine
A love forever symbolic
Honor me till death we part

Money, Darling, makes the world turn
Gamble it away, watch it burn
Charitable assistance to those in need
Necessary evil, temptation beckons

Silver, Dear, keep it near
Sparkle and rub, rub, rub
Tangible asset; we adore
Wanting more and more

Gold, Beloved; everlasting
Play the fool, fool, fool
Figurative bauble, encrusted crown
Promise broken, betray my heart

Gold; Silver; Money mean little to me
What is to be will be
Trust, respect and devotion
Is all I wanted from thee
