Smiled in the dark....

by Sai Vara Prasad Potharaju   Mar 8, 2008

In the mirror glimmered the thing,
Moonlight simmering in the sink,
Creepers creeping up the wall to
An infinite space in the skies,
The sky wasn't one.

Hounds and creatures of the night,
Eyes gleaming with joy of a thousand moments-waiting,
Hoping, awaiting this one.
The 'ol beard in the tavern croaks away
To a song of the swollen seas, the blanket is drawn.

Drops of saturn melting down the trees,
Dripping ever so slowly down the side...
Down the mangly branches arched

Like a warrior of fights and nights,
Down to the leaves of a myriad hues,
Finally to the body-to the bark....
And hence smiled the dark.
