Broken Walls

Broken Walls by oNice

These broken walls surround me,
They crumble on every side.
They offer no protection,
As the enemy draws nigh.

The gates are all but rust,
These locks are of no use,
The guardsmen have left their post,
This time, I will lose.

Should I give up as well?
Just as everyone else has done?
Am I left standing here,
Knowing the enemy's won?

Should I stand and fight?
Or should I turn and flee?
Am I left alone,
As the enemy surrounds me?

But I can't help but think,
That I should stand and fight.
Regardless of what will happen,
I should give it all my might!

Though my walls should crumble,
And my gates should fall down.
I will live life to the fullest!
Live life without a frown!
