Betrayed and Behind

by Cheshire Kat   Mar 12, 2008

Into a world of unknown does my soul do seek alone.
Into a world of freedom where my heart is not a stone.
Into a land of miracles where peace puts us at ease.
Into the land of whimsical, where words are our only keys.

Take it upon yourself to ease my troubled mind.
Find a simple reason to explain why you're not blind.
If you can, I promise you I'll take you in as sure
As the sky is likely to make the stars fall and pour.

Do you think I'm still so innocent
Like the child you left behind?
Who you believed wouldn't question reason
Because you thought me to be so kind?

Think again, and let me show
You what you made me now.
A crippled soul whose heart is cold,
And you wonder why, wonder how?

Let me tell you how this happened,
How I became who I came to be.
It started with your back turned away,
When you went and left me.

Hear me, I'm no angel.
I'm no maiden in despair.
I'm no saint without an error,
I'm no child who can care.

All I know, and hope is true,
Is that I'm a human; through and through.
I'm no devil, no Satan in disguise.
I'm a melody in the making,
Whose first few lines was a reprise.

I'm just a person. I make mistakes.
I know the difference between
the truth and the fake.
I understand how one can betray,
But I don't understand
How "leaving behind" is okay.

((ARRGGHHH, I HATE THIS POEM!!! why I put it up is beyond me, though. ><"))
