Old friends

I hope you can hear me
Wherever you are
You must be in heaven
And I guess that`s pretty far.
I hope the journey was over real quick
And they let my angle in
With a face like that
They`d know you`d never sin.

Sitting there all by myself
I got a message which said
Nothing other
Than you where dead.
I sat for a moment
And stared at that word
With those wings on earth
You flew like a bird.
I sat and cried
While hours went by
Why did you leave us
And how did you die?

All dressed in black
We walked to the train
Passing memories
I couldn`t stop the pain.
You`re new friends
Would miss you so much
But we had years on them
And I miss your touch.
I tried to be fine standing there
While he talked abut your life
But I would have done anything
To take away that knife
That was straight through my heart
And making me cry
To hold you one last time
To say goodbye.
