The walk....

by Sai Vara Prasad Potharaju   Mar 14, 2008

I don't know where I am walking
I don't know where I go
I walk turning a thousand turns
Falling a thousand drains

But I still keep on walking
And only God knows
Why and how.

That little child by the road
Fly infested and deserted
Cry at me in vain

But still I walk
As there is nothing evil reigns.

This pockmarked old man
Laughs at me
Sitting on a grave

I turn my face
But he calls and laughs
And says you will be here
No matter how fast
You walk this lane.

My legs stumble
And hands shiver, but still I walk
Numbing my senses
With desires high and low
Trying to elude me
My emptiness,

But my hallow heart beats
in rhythm-
Why, where and how.
