Jerry Lee Ward, Jr.

by Felicia   Mar 14, 2008

October 9, 1978,
The deal was sealed; and
Jerry Lee Ward Jr. was born late.
You crawled, you walked
You cried, you talked;
Years gone by and now you are as bold as a hawk.
Oh my look how fast time fly;
Jumped some years
And now its 1995.
You collapsed one day and
The doctor said your appendix bust;
When you came home everyone made such a fuss.
It seems as though you healed over night,
You didn't give up without a fight.
And yet, years went by and its 2001,
I'm chillin' with my kins having a blast of fun.
We were about to see the artist named Tank;
When we got bad news
That made my heart sank.
Riding to my aunts house,
I'm thinking everything is alright;
But when we arrived, it was like a horrible fright.
My aunt said to us, Jerry Lee has passed away;
When I heard those words
I yelled out No, why, how? Without any delay.
Everyone called each other
And met at the hospital;
Seeing my mother in pain,
It felt so brutal.
If I could turn back the hands of time;
I could find out
Whether your accident was a crime.
March 3rd hit everyone with a surprise,
March 10th came and everyone said their goodbyes.
Seeing your body in that casket,
Is something I'll never forget;
And seeing your father and your step-father very upset.
You went too soon, you was only 23;
You have no ideal how much you meant to me.
So rest easy cause now you are free,
Sweet dreams until the next time we meet
