The Child Of An Ice Cold Stare

by Sarah   Mar 17, 2008

Murderous Intentions, People Say She's Fine.
How Is That An Unusual Sign?
She Sits And Stares At Sights Unknown.
She Hides In The Corner Of Her Mind Alone.

Perhaps It's Best That She Stays There.
For When She's Not, Her Rage Is Worse Than Her Glare.
An Angry And Vicious Child Who Can't Find Her Place,
Scratch Marks And Tears Run Down Her Face.

Out Of Fear, She's Left Alone.
Rejected Even In Her Own Home.
In School, No One Sits By Her Side.
She Doesn't Mind, She Wished They All Died.

And With That, She Snapped.
She's Got Them Cornered Now, They're All Trapped.
One By One, With A Final Glare,
They Last Saw The Girl With The Ice Cold Stare.

At Home, No Need To Bother.
An Abusive Mother And A Drunken Father.
They Don't Know The Anger Inside.
Love And Empathy Deprive.

She Walks Through The Door To Angry Faces.
Through The Yelling, The Thought Once More Races.
Into The Kitchen, She Grabs The Knives.
She Ended Both Her Parents Lives.

And Now This Girl Lay In A Forgotten Plea.
Another Soul Gone For Wolves To Feed.
Though, He Body Is No Longer There,
Closely Look In The Night, You'll Still See Her Glare.

Oh, this was a very dark poem, what a heavy read. Because of this I can honestly say this poem has had a huge impact. Her isolation is felt but I dont actually feel sorry for her- your imagery has created a deeply sinister character. I dont know if this was your angle but it is the impression that I am left with. It leaves the reader with a sense of fear. Superbly written piece. Keep it up.
