Running from th truth
Hiding from a lie
Staring straight ahead
While the world just passes by.

Searching for more answers
Turning back to see
The girl by his side
She wishes she could be.

Staring t hi happiness
Confusion in her eyes
Picturing his perfect face
Every night she cries.

Changed everything about herself
To try to win him back
Remembering before she met him
That's not how she'd react.

Scorched bymisery
Smothered in pain
Hopeless, rejected
Her tears drowned the rain.

Left to ponder
On the good and the bad
Only seeing what she wanted
Forgetting what she had.
