You

by Richard Crissman   Mar 18, 2008

You are my gift from the heavens above,
Send back to me as my one true love.
You are my one and only dream,
And with you again we are a team.
I'll never forget that horrific sight,
following you home on Friday night.
When I saw that car cross into your lane,
My body was filled with frightening pain.
When the doctor came to me and said you were fighting for you life,
My heart felt like it was pierced by a knife.
I sat in the hospital and began to pray,
For you to come through and be okay.
The doctor said your surgery would be do or die,
And the tears from my eyes continued to fly.
After a week and several surgeries later,
Our hope for your survival grew much greater.
When the doctor told us that the bleeding had come to an end,
It took me a while to comprehend.
At that glorious time in my life,
I knew you would still be around to be my future wife.
I don't know what I would of done without you,
For your the one that I have given my heart to.
You are the reason I am where I am today,
And with that I only have one thing to say:
I LOVE YOU MORE THAN ANYTHING.
