Six Months But Not Forgotten

by Richard Crissman   Jun 13, 2008

It has now been six months since I lost you,
But my love for you has only grew.
I thought it would get easier as time went by,
But there are still nights I lay in bed and cry.
Your tombstone should be coming soon,
The guy told me by the end of June.
I just wish I could have took your place,
Or make everything that happened just erase.
I wish I could hold you in my arms once more,
Or chase you as you crawl across the floor.
I would have been better than any other father could,
Your life with me would have been more than good.
For your every need I would have been by your side,
But I promise to you my love for you will never subside.
I will think of you every night and day,
And I will speak to you each night as I pray.
I will always cherish the only time I got to hold you close,
And look at your precious little toes.
In the short minutes we were able to embrace,
I'll never forget your innocent little face.
Your looks were a splitting image of your brother,
And you have the world's greatest mother.
You may be miles and miles away,
But your always in my heart to stay.
I promise you that one day I will come to the Heaven's above,
And bring with me the numerous years of lost love.
Baby I love you more than I can ever explain,
But until we meet again my heart will always be filled with slight pain.
