Big City Lights

by Ben   Mar 19, 2008

You are so far away from my arms,
It makes it so cold in my heart.
So lonely where you are,
Away from the big city lights.
So quiet at night.

Christmas rolls around but I know you're there
Just out of reach but always on my mind
Baby they just don't cut it any more.
The pictures of you glues to the lids of my eyes

Too far from me to hold.
You keep my dreams to yourself,
Never felt so old.
Time's never been so cold

You are so far away from my arms,
It makes it so cold in my heart.
So lonely where you are,
Away from the big city lights.
So quiet at night.

Dreams treat me kindly,
When I wake your in my eyes,
Cold days and cold, cold nights.
The city with love but a disguise.

Grey clouds cover this city,
Keeping me at bay, holding me back,
Knowing you'll walk through my gate,
Never looking back anymore.

Soon enough these skies will clear,
Then it will only be you and me.
There will be no time to fear,
These big city lights will set us free.

These big city lights,
They'll draw you to me one more,
The passing time warms my heart,
It's not so long any more,
Not so quiet at night.
