Cherished Desolation

by BrokenREALiTy   Mar 20, 2008

"Sometimes I'd like to help you drown, so I can live this life unlived"
Because she loved you, I didn't speak, but today she isn't here,
(He torched her heart with gasoline, because she made it clear)
In the sea amongst the cloudy greys that like to invade our lives,
She ripped you open and let you scream with shattered pride.
A docile fiend that you couldn't conquer pounded against your broken walls,
Scraping blood across your gaping wounds with salted claws.
And as the dwindling of her fortitude slowly began to come undone,
Her phantom warmth consumed the beast, finally bringing calm.
Luring pity with little setbacks that you wittingly overstated,
Her gaunt fingers danced across the lifeless fields with rage.
(He murdered her in this broken debacle, but he doesn't even care)
"And occasionally I spell it yllanoisacco because that's what you did to her"
With your churlish remarks you yanked, until her darkened eyes matched yours'.
(He stopped her heart; she embezzled his, and they both lay dead tonight)

**It was a poem for LA. There were certain required words and sentence types that had to be in the piece, so most of the lines are really awkward.
