Survived

by guitarman   Mar 20, 2008

Can you hear above the echoes
the steady pounding of my heart
Beyond the deafening silence
the rhythmic beat, pulsating
The pumping of life force
coursing through veins; so vital
I'm still alive, survived
your thrashes, your pummels
I stand still, breathing deep
filling bruised lungs, behind aching ribs.

Can you hear above the torrential winds
my voice, screaming curses
Beyond the harsh, unruly breath
the steady cries, I send out to you.
Mouth open wide, black abyss
drowning out the banshee shrills
I still have voice, words to speak
And speak I will, my nemesis.
To you I will send my waking hauntings
Screams filling your dreams forever.
