I want to take these things you hate
and choke you with them
I want to hear you scream your alibi
So I can call you "Perjury"
I want the needle of the lie detector to sew you down
because that's where my high comes from.

You'll say it because I know you will.
You'll say it for the jury and the judge.
i'll shake and point and gesture
and nearly climb atop the judge's pedestal
to make sure of this disgrace
I'll clear my throat and say "Excuse me,
but could I borrow something declaratory
to fill the spaces in my hollows?"

Minding my business is difficult enough
without your talking, talking through my ears
like needles as I shake my head as if to say
"This isn't all I need.
This is just my testimony.
This isn't just perjurious,
this is martyrdom."
