Silently Screaming

by xxSilentlyScreamingxx   Mar 23, 2008

Silently screaming.
No-one will know
Just how much it hurts
To be me right now.
To those on the outside,
Looking in at me,
Nothing bad can be seen.
Successful, smart, happy, loved -
Anything you could wish to be.
Its only a game, a lie
To fool you all
And hide the truth so deep inside.
Put on the mask again
To face another day,
To greet you all with a smile
And a friendly face.
Beaneath the mask the tears fall
As emotion threatens to surface.
Lonely, hurt, broken, sad -
Force them all deep down,
Never to escape,
Never to break the mask.
Silently screaming...
What have I come to?
