Spring

by girlnextdoor   Mar 24, 2008

Looking out the window hopelessly
The signs of change are far from here
No flowers blooming, or birds outside
I wish that I were warm and free

Kept behind the door is spring's fresh glee
I will not cry another tear
In my musky room I will not hide
When nature finds the precious key

The winter cold has gotten to me
Can't stand to look into the mirror
The girl staring back has lost her pride
But spring, it holds no guarantee

My heart is his, I pray for mercy
My mind is full of thoughts of fear
As winter cold goes out with the tide
I wish my love for him to flee

Note: I decided to try a structured poem . Tell me what you think.
