Forgive Me Mama

by Poison Ivy   Mar 25, 2008

Please forgive me mama,
But I must leave,
This is no longer my home,
I am simply a roaming ghost,

Papa has a new family now,
We no longer speak,
Even though we live,
Under the same household,

I know he is not happy,
He no longer smiles,
Nor tells jokes,
I cannot recall the last time,
I heard him laugh,

His grown tired,
Life is so hard,
I know he will be proud,
Even though he may not understand right now,

Please don't look down on me,
Now that I have chosen to join,
The United States Marines.
