My dear Rose

by Cellina Rodriguez   Mar 26, 2008

To my dear rose
its thorns filled with my blood that courses through every vein within its stem
a darken past it wields, cold and bloody
its cries echo through me as I watch from afar
my hands shake, fearing each passing moment
laughing at it to hide away my shame
i look on, my eyes roaming each black mark through the roses petals
finding nothing
my dear rose bare of all treason, bare of even the slightest error
its beauty within and without
a darken past which must see the light
come to me, take flight
don't let anyone take your wings,
for tonight you are free, but be forewarned
tomorrow courses through your veins
and that my dear rose is not what it seems
