That Little Thing

by Keesha   Mar 27, 2008

She shudders so hard the earth shakes
her eyelids ache and burn
from the tears she cried tonight
She's screaming, gasping for air
Can't seem to find the surface
of this reckless drama
His name stings her skin
leaving welts into scars
Every mention, every thought
leaves her holding herself
just to keep together
In this room she thrashes and yells
no one sees or hears a word
Silent pleas towards sanity
that will remain unanswered
Remember when she felt so alive?
That little thing
with her head so high?
Now with that pretty face
bent over the sink
Blue eyed tears go down the drain
each a quiet whisper to the past
To the present her mind returns
and breaks the sweet memory
There goes her love, her life
With his back to her and no second glance
