Night

by Brooke   Mar 28, 2008

Night engulfs the world in darkness
it is the cloak of the earth
each time the sun sets
a new mystery begins

the nighttime creatures start their hunt
their routine expedition is marked by the silence
a haunting reminder we are not alone
in this night we call our own

soon a misty fog sets in
no light yet breaks the dull horizon
but still the nighttime creatures are hiding
and then the moon begins to fade

while wiping all the stars away
the sun begins to show its face
the night has had its stanza sung
but now the day has begun
