I look at you, can hardly breathe
Emotions rock me to the core
A love that I would never believe
Has left me wanting, needing more

You started talking as a friend
A favor you would give me
But now these feelings have no end
Your words, my heart set free

To love you is the greatest gift
That I have ever known
My soul, to heights unknown you lift
My love is yours alone

And if together's not what we can be
Then grieve I will not do
I'll rejoice in the fact that you loved me
And how, baby, I loved you
